Jean Elliott

Children and Families Minister

Jean joined the Cathedral team as Children and Families Minister in January 2020. She is passionate about the nurture of children’s spirituality and seeing whole families growing together in faith.

Junior Church is an important part of this but Jean is also looking forward to making more links with families in the wider community. She loves to share the Bible in creative ways and to explore, play and worship in God’s creation. She is also chaplain at the Cathedral Primary School.

Jean has worked in parishes in Lichfield and London Dioceses as well as previously working in Chelmsford Diocese as Children’s Ministry Development Worker for Waltham Forest Deanery. During this time she was part of the Diocesan Children’s Committee. Before all of this she was a primary school teacher and her first teaching post was in Witham! The wonderfully diverse Chelmsford Diocese definitely has a special place in her heart.
